Vegan MoFo Day 22
This Summer E and I met up with D-Pants and T at the Festival of Nations in Tower Grove Park.It was fun to walk around, to look at some booths, see some dancing, and try some foods!
I had a really great mint lemonade from some booth I don't remember and I need to make that on my own at home. It was so refreshing and tasty.
For food I found a Senegalese booth that offered a Veggie Curry dish over rice. This was really wonderful. Not quite a good amount for what I paid, but very flavorful. Some similar flavor to many Indian foods. I'd love to eat it at their restaurant and try out some other vegan friendly items.

E had his first ever falafel if you can believe that! I tend to go on my falafel dates with D-Pants or grab it on the go. He picked it from the Israeli booth. I asked him how he liked it and he was really satisfied. We'll have to get this boys butt to Al Tarboush for some even BETTER falafel soon.
I'm trying to keep that positivity going, but there's been a medical emergency tonight that has slowed me down and I'm waiting to hear more. MoFo is a thankful distraction while I wait for further word. Please keep me and my family in your thoughts if you wouldn't mind.

Vegan MoFo Day 21
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip with Cream Cheese Frosting (from VCTOTW)These have been a big favorite lately.
Otherwise a crazy day full of love and randomness. Job prospect thinger, thai food, leading Mom around Trader Joes and helping her make picks, dog walking and one dog rescue (yay Kandy - hope she's glad to be home, looks like she has it good, really good), back and neck cracking and popping after looking over my x-rays and a further treatment plan starting tomorrow. I have high hopes for this life thing.
It took a bit of craziness to make myself see that I deserve to be happy. That I'm worth more than I was giving myself credit for. That life is doable and not so overwhelming and lovely lovely lovely. Gonna take awhile to get things in order, but they're already starting to fall into place. I'll just help 'em along a bit more.
Go Life! Go Veganism! Go Happiness!

Vegan MoFo Day 20
Today's going to be really incredibly busy, so here's a super early morning post before I even go to sleep.Today I received my package from Food Fight! Vegan Grocery.
This is the first time I'd ordered from them, so I went ahead and got myself some goodies. Plus, some things for other people.
Three different kinds of Go Max Go vegan candy bars, Whizzers chocolate beans, almond butter patties, vegan condoms, stickers, O-Mega Zen vitamins, Soy Curls!I'm really excited about this new fun stuff to try out. I'd been wanting to start taking those vitamins awhile now, so I'll see if they help. Those Soy Curls have been raved about and I'd yet to try them. Really excited to do so (any favorite ways to prepare them?). I'll be saying more about some of these things in the future as I try them out.
Today I tried a Jokerz bar. It's high in calories (it's a candy bar, duh!), but was good. I haven't had a good ol' regular candy bar in a long long time, so it was a nice treat. Very ooey gooey and with a wonderful rice milk chocolate coating. Mmmhmm! Not an every day...or even week, kinda thing, but I'll take one now and again.
Off to bed for me, busy day ahead!

Vegan MoFo Day 19
This weekend E and I made up a big ol' pot pie!We used the Flaky Crust recipe from Vegan Vittles and also the Golden Gravy recipe (both doubled). We couldn't seem to find the pie pan, so made a big square pot pie!

We filled it with a mixed bag of frozen organic vegetables and a couple chopped up organic russets. Plus, all the gravy.

Vegan MoFo Day 18
One day I happened to have some cashews soaking and was looking for a snack. This was when I had been eating raw foods for a couple weeks. This wasn't all that recent.ANYWAY I decided I wanted something to go with my container of organic strawberries. I threw the soaked cashews in the food processor with a small squirt of agave nectar and a couple chopped strawberries.

Vegan MoFo Day 17
One lovely Saturday I hit the streets for some good ol' garage sales.I quickly stumbled upon this old rickety spice rack and brought it home with me for just two dollars.
We soaked all the bottles and salvaged the best ones. I reinforced the nails, sanded it down, and gave it a new yellow layer. Then we added a few more shaker style spice jars and labels.
